The World Valuation Congress

The purpose of the World Valuation Congress Trust is to generate information about the valuation of real property and to stimulate discussion between practitioners in the public and private sectors and academics working in this field. Since 1984 this has been accomplished by means of a biennial international Congress held at various places around the world, and the reach of these Congresses has been greatly extended by fruitful co-operation with Emerald.

Many of the Congress papers have been published in the Journal of Property Investment & Finance and its predecessors. Recently, WVC has been able to add another dimension by joining with Emerald and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the sponsorship of the Built Environment Internet Research Register (www.emeraldinsight.com/researchregisters/tbe.htm). Another imaginative idea was the offer of free access to Emerald property portfolio for a trial period which was made available through the WVC Web site. This offer incorporated a prize draw that concluded at World Valuation Congress IX in Singapore.
