Universal portable Colour Assessment Cabinet

VeriVide, has launched its new universal, portable Colour Assessment Cabinet (CAC) which is suitable for all industries and applications where colour consistency and quality needs to be maintained (Plate 8). Key applications for the new VeriVide CAC Portable include the coatings and inks markets.

The manufacturer states that the new CAC Portable incorporates an advanced range of features: a choice of five light sources; advanced lighting features including circuit board switching to enable the light source to be immediately switched from one source to another; electronic ballast control which minimises strobe effect; and it permits the combined use of 26 and 38mm lamps. The CAC Portable is compact and well-built with no separate parts to be fitted together after transportation.

The CAC Portable provides universal colour viewing for a wide range of market sectors - automotive, ceramics, cosmetics, dyeing, foodstuffs, footwear, furniture, inks, knitwear, leather, ophthalmic and textiles. The portable's choice of lighting sources includes: (D65) VeriVide "Artificial Daylight" fluorescent lamps conforming to international Standard Illuminant D65 within the tolerances prescribed by BS950: Part 1; (F) Tungsten Filament lighting required as a test for metamerism; (UV) Ultra Violet Backlight to reveal the presence of fluorescent dyes and bleaches; and a selection from: (D75) US preferred daylight, (D50) graphics arts standard, and (TL84), (TL83), (CWF) US point of sale lighting standards.

Leslie Hubble has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing lighting cabinets for the visual assessment of colour and supplying major graphics arts organisations throughout the world. The latest VeriVide DTP Viewer is specially designed to complement the latest colour repro systems. This unit provides controlled lighting conditions for the comparison of transparencies with reflective copy and can be conveniently placed alongside the colour monitor.

The VeriVide products are designed to provide the controlled viewing conditions prescribed in ISO 3664 and British Standard 950 pt 2 (viewing conditions for the Graphics Arts industry). All VeriVide equipment carries CE approval to EN55015 and the company holds quality certification to BS EN ISO 9002. Its CAC range meets BS 950 Pt 1 for viewing inks, dyes paper and packaging.
