Returnable solvent removal units

Chemviron Carbon inform us that it has introduced a mobile system for removing low levels of airborne VOC solvent from process exhaust vents. The system, known as Cyclevent CV3, is the result of practical operation of prototypes in a number of industrial sectors (Plate 1). Cyclevent is said to be efficient at removing solvent odours and facilitates regulatory solvent recovery compliance.

Cyclevent units are supplied ready-to-use and are stated to be easily transported and installed. The system is believed to be particularly suited to asessing long-term needs of a process before making a commitment to invest in fixed plant. A single Cyclevent CV3 unit can reportedly handle up to 4,500 cubic metres an hour and several units can be linked to treat higher air flow rates. Cyclevent CV3 can efficiently reduce most solvent to levels to meet statutory requirements.

Cyclevent CV3 stainless steel units are delivered as mobile assemblies containing recyclable carbon. The units are rented and replaced over time as the carbon becomes spent. Chemviron Carbon retrieves the spent units and reactivates the carbon at its own plants for reuse, so no on-site carbon handling is required.

These 3cu.m units can be stacked two high and they are fitted with fork lift truck slots and crane lifting lugs. The units - designed to operate in upflow mode, in parallel or in series - are said to be maintenance-free.
