A new brochure from Specialty Minerals Inc. (SMI) explores the position of SMI's precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) products. SMI is of the opinion that in the paper coating industry its crystal engineered PCC coating products deliver a range of uncompromising properties that combine to support whiter, brighter paper.
SMI claims the ability to design and produce several different shapes of crystals in a tightly controlled range of sizes and surface areas. This, it believes, allows the company to create application-specific products for individual mill operation.
