The board of directors of Minerals Technologies Inc. recently announced that Jean-Paul Vallès, chairman and chief executive officer, had resigned as chief executive officer. He has agreed to remain as chairman of the board.
Paul R. Saueracker has been elected by the board as chief executive officer. Paul is now president of Minerals Technologies Inc. The board of directors, at the recommendation of Paul, also elected Anton Dulski chief operating officer of the company. Anton had been executive vice president of the company. In addition to his current responsibilities for the refractories products segment, Anton will also be responsible for the speciality minerals segment.
John B. Curcio, chairman of the Board's Compensation and Nominating Committee, said: "There would have been no Minerals Technologies Inc. without Jean-Paul Vallès. He was the driving force behind the creation of the company, took it public and then led it through eight years of outstanding growth. The employees and shareholders owe him a debt of gratitude".
