Millennium Chemicals (NYSE-MCH) has announced the launch of Tiona 595, described as an innovative titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment designed to give exceptional performance in a wide range of demanding coatings systems.
Tiona 595 claims high tint strength and opacity benefits as a result of optimized particle size and a novel surface treatment. It also is said to have excellent durability performance in terms of gloss retention and chalking resistance as well as improved colour, high millbase loadings and low dispersant demand.
Typical applications for Tiona 595 include decorative coatings (interior and exterior, water- and solvent based); general industrial coatings; automotive, OEM and refinish; powder coatings; and marine and protective coatings.
Tiona 595 will be marketed in Europe and Asia/Pacific.
