Profits down in Peruvian chemical sector

While the Peruvian chemical industry has continued to show positive growth, the last year has seen a reduction in profit margins due to increased competition, especially in the areas of paints and glues, where this drop has been up to 40 per cent. The industry exports some chemical products to the Andean region, but is not currently looking for new markets, preferring to wait for the conclusion of the negotiations related to the common market in the region. The products imported are primarily related to agricultural production.
