BRE is now owned by the Foundation for the Built Environment, a non-profit making body that purchased BRE from the Government in March 1997. I have just received their general publicity brochure BRE Constructing the Future which makes interesting reading. We have included two BRE-sponsored articles in this issue, "Concrete building project" and "Better doors and windows" good practical reading.
BRE News contains brief articles on neglected mortar, ventilation and alkali aggregate reaction full details can be obtained on this and other publications from BRE, Garston, Watford, Hertfordshire WD2 7DR.
Recent publications include BRE Digest 426 on The Response of Structures to Dynamic Crowd Loads (anyone concerned with the local gig?), Information Paper IP8/96 on Moisture Resistance of Laminated Timber and IP9 and 10/97 on Emergency LightingandWay Finding Systems, Good Building Guide No GBG29, in two parts on Connecting Walls and Floors and GBG11 Pt 4 (I have mentioned parts 1, 2 and 3 before) on Repair, Flood Damage. This is at a domestic rather than a Windsor Castle scale.
