MYDATA automation recently released its newest pick and place machine, the MY15™ (Plate 3). The machine adds improved BGA and flip chip placement capability and enhanced accuracy. By combining this with speed (14,400 CPH) and a large feeder capability of 208 feeders, the MY15 is ideal for high-volume, high-mix production.

The new MY15 is extremely flexible, and when combined with the HYDRA Speedmount® head and standard Z-fi head, it offers customers high speed mounting performance and fine pitch placement, with extended component handling capability, ranging from QFPs to chip scale BGA and CSP.

An extensive feeder volume provides the MYI 5 with a large component capacity that allows room for 208 feeders. The machine also supports the industry's fastest tray exchanger, the TEX™ ­ increasing the machines' component capacity with 32 JEDEC trays and no pick-waiting times. The tray exchange process is fast, accurate and protects delicate components by controlling the system's acceleration through the customer's preset parameters.

The MY15 runs on TPSys® system software, a UNIX-based sophisticated real time control system, offering multi-user, multi-tasking and multi-products production features. With new software features including a new event log feature, which contains complete management and quality data from production, together with a user access system, which means databases and functions can be protected from non-authorised operators.
