Quad Systems Corporation has announced the availability of the QSV-W™. This new SMT assembler is designed for very large board, low complexity applications.
The QSV-W assembles boards measuring up to 30" wide × 24" long (762mm × 610mm) while in standard mode in a single pass using its front loading, shuttle-style workholder. In shuttle mode, the operator indexes the workholder to a second pin-registered position to accommodate boards up to 30" × 48" (762mm × 1,219mm).
The operator saves valuable time and reduces the risk of component damage by moving the shuttle to its second position without unloading, rotating, or reloading the board. The user may further extend the QSV-W's board size capability to 35" * 48" (889mm × 1,219mm) by removing the QSV-W's standard upward vision camera and JEDEC tray holder.
