Philips Electronic Manufacturing Technology (EMT), and H.M Electronic Systems Limited of East Kilbride, Scotland and their US affiliate company CIMCIS, LLC-based in Simsbury, CT, USA, have announced the formation of a strategic partnership.

Philips EMT intends to incorporate CIMCIS&#153 technology into its complete line of placement equipment. The new product resulting from this partnership offers the industry the most powerful and intelligent SMT feeder and setup verification system available. The system was initially designed for the Philips' Fast Component Mounter. This unique approach enables users to easily verify the setup on machines before implementing production and therefore helps avoid the expensive error of building the wrong product.

Next, Philips EMT will expand the partnership by offering CIMCIS technology for "real time" SMT process control and monitoring. Philips will co-develop the integration into its machines, distribute, sell and service most of the complete line of CIMCIS products.
