eGOV 2008: The Fourth eGovernment Workshop "Transformation and Innovation"

The fourth eGovernment Workshop returns to Brunel in 2008. With the achievement of near 100 percent eGovernment implementation by its 2005 target the UK is now firmly engaged in transforming the way government works to reap the full benefits of this investment.This workshop calls for theoretical analysis, empirical research, or case studies that will provide us with a deeper insight into issues surrounding the use of information and communications technology to achieve better government. The best papers will be considered for publication in a special edition of the journal Transforming Government: People, Process and Policy.Possible topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Innovation and Transformation in the public sector.

  • Flexible and adaptable systems and platforms.

  • eParticipation and eConsultation.

  • Cooperation and coordination across government agencies.

  • eDemocracy and eVoting.

  • eGovernment Portals, one stop shop facility, and web accessibility.

  • Mobile technology and eGovernment.

  • Usability, eServices, eTransactions, multi-modal delivery, and personalisation.

  • Social inclusion, the digital divide and e-Inclusion.

  • Security, trust, confidence, privacy, data protection, eSignature, authentication, and biometric cards.

  • eGovernment evaluation, good practice and feedback from users.

  • Organisational change, training, culture, and sustainability.

  • Technology, infrastructure, interoperability and integration.

  • Information knowledge management and eGovernment.

  • Transparency, responsiveness, and accountability.

  • eLegislation, outsourcing and eGovernance.

Important dates for authors:

  • June 16, 2008: Submission deadline

  • July 14, 2008: Notification of acceptance.

  • July 2008: Delegate registration opens.

  • August 1, 2008: Deadline for camera-ready papers.

  • September 8, 2008: Workshop date.

Please note that at least one author per accepted paper must have registered by August 1, 2008. If authors do not register in time their paper will not be published.
