Unreal!
As a public sector employee, I often get tarred with the general "not in the real world" brush, suggesting that we in this carefully-protected world do not face the same kinds of pressures as those in "industry" (whatever that is). This may be true (but having worked in industry, I doubt it). Sometimes, of course, we face different pressures, but our world is as real as any other. We have examples of both high and low productivity, of high and low quality, of good and bad decisions, of … Do you remember the great unmetered Internet access fiasco of last year? The services were launched by "real-world" companies, some of them pretty large ones, with (apparently) no understanding of likely demand or technical infrastructure requirements, and were then closed down with little regard for customer service or loyalty. The persons responsible should try working in education (with constantly dwindling resources) or local government (with pressure to identify and enhance best practice). Now, there's a couple of real worlds!
