Orchestrating success

Orchestream, the leading developer of software for activating services on and enhancing the performance of Internet protocol (IP) networks, has been chosen by Siemens Network Systems Limited to deliver performance to British Airways' IP Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). Siemens Network Systems Limited (SNSL) won the contract from British Airways for the management and upgrade of its existing communications networks in June 2000, and was chosen to design, implement and manage the company's new IP MAN as part of British Airways' Network Futures initiative. The introduction of an IP network will reduce British Airways operating costs and deliver unprecedented control over its performance in order to meet business requirements, while demanding minimal administration and intervention. The advanced features offered by Orchestream's software are designed to support new and emerging applications and services such as IP virtual private networks (IP-VPNs), assured performance of key business applications, as well as video conferencing and voice applications.
