B&Q set to expand training across UK

B&Q – the UK DIY store chain – is set to expand the number of e-learning courses available to its staff following a successful rollout of health and safety training to around 10,000 employees. Launched last June, the online health and safety training will be delivered to all 28,000 UK staff, and has blazed the trail for a new wave of e-learning courses at B&Q. "The health and safety course is part of a wider e-learning strategy to provide consistent training across our UK stores", says Adrian Jones, e-training manager at B&Q. "The benefits of e-learning are the consistency and the ease of distribution, so while our initial focus was on the health and safety course, we intend to provide more online courses." Product knowledge courses and B&Q systems training have already been rolled out, using Docent's Enterprise Suite, to staff at B&Q's 310 UK stores. Managerial and induction training courses are also planned.
