Abstract:THOUGH FLYING without visibility has been practical for some time, fog still causes severe restrictions on both landing and take off. Every year numerous airports find their traffic dislocated for this reason. Moreover, these traffic disruptions can be the root cause of extra air transport running costs and reduce the confidence of passengers.
