Special issue on multi-criteria decision aid methods for modelling and solving business and management problems

Guest Editors: Alessio Ishizaka and Ashraf Labib, University of Portsmouth, UK

Background Information

Companies grow, prosper or fail as a consequence of the decisions taken by their management and stakeholders. Decision making is therefore a vital contributor to the success of enterprises and administrations. This special issue will take the form of a collection of innovative case studies and methods from practitioners and researchers.

The special issue welcomes high quality papers from researchers and practitioners engaged in using Multi-Criteria Decision Aid (MCDA) methods, in isolation or combined with other techniques, to assist individuals or groups in their decision making. Both practical and theoretical papers are welcomed. For papers with a practical nature we expect innovative applications, which bring important insights about the way MCDA methods can be deployed and provide in-depth reflections about the intervention. The following applications are also offered to the keener researchers: . Conflict resolution; . Environmental applications; . General resource allocation and optimization; . Group decision making; . Human resources; . Marketing decisions; . Medical decision making; and . Military applications.
