JWL and RWL6

  • The Journal of Workplace Learning was delighted to repeat its sponsorship the conference Best Paper Awards at this year’s Researching Work and Learning Conference (RWL 6), held at Roskilde University, Denmark. A special issue of papers from the conference will be published in the 2010 volume and this will be edited by Professor Henning Salling Olesen of Roskilde University.

 

eLearning Africa 2009

  • In 2010 Emerald will be a proud conference sponsor of eLearning Africa 2009. This will be the  fifth in the highly successful series of pan-African gatherings, will take place in Zambia. From May 26 – 28, 2010, the Continent’s largest annual assembly of eLearning and education professionals from Africa and beyond will convene in the capital, Lusaka. eLA is the largest gathering of eLearning and distance education professionals in Africa, and enables participants to develop multinational and cross-industry contacts and partnerships

 

JEIT at the HRD Conference 2009, Newcastle

  • Whilst attending the 10th International Conference on Human Resource Development Research and Practice across Europe, Publisher Nancy Rolph and Editor Tom Garavan recently presented the Emerald Outstanding Paper Award to Robert G. Hamlin, who accepted on behalf of his co-authors Andrea D. Ellinger and Rona S. Beattie, for their paper “Behavioural indicators of ineffective managerial coaching: A cross-national study”, published in volume 32 number 4, 2008 of the Journal of European Industrial Training.
    They also presented a Highly Commended Paper Award to David Simmonds, who accepted on behalf of himself and his co-author Rebecca Gibson, for their paper “A model for outsourcing HRD”, published in volume 32 number 1, 2008 of the Journal of European Industrial Training.

Journal of European Industrial Training

The Journal of European Industrial Training aims to provide all those involved in research and practice in training with ideas, news, research findings, case examples and discussion on HRD. Although the journal focuses primarily on activity in Europe, it also draws on insights from global examples of training requirements unique to the industrial sector. The journal now invites submissions from those working in the following areas:
