Editorial objectives

The Journal of Health Organization and Management (JHOM) supports the development and sharing of knowledge within the fields of health organization and management. It prioritises critical exploration and promotes analyses from a diverse range of theoretical and applied perspectives dealing with health issues in the broadest sense. JHOM provides an international forum for the exchange of innovative and methodologically diverse studies and analyses.

Editorial criteria

Research papers based on both empirical and theoretical perspectives are actively encouraged. In addition to papers which take a traditional approach to health organization and management, the journal invites critcal contributions which question the established paradigms.

The journal seeks not only contributions that are complete in their conception and analysis but also contributions from academics, students and practitioners who wish to explore their ideas as they are in the process of development. Empirical and theoretical work which draws upon a wide range of disciplines and perspectives is sought.

Through the ‘viewpoints’ and ‘new perspectives’ sections JHOM also welcomes shorter pieces (3,000 words) that are state of the art reviews of the existing knowledge base and provocative but scholarly reviews that contribute new ways of thinking about health organization and management analysis and discourse.
