Editorial objectives

IFLA logo. The practice or performance measurement and gathering statistics is often seen as a time consuming chore, but if you don’t know how you are performing how can you identify problems and introduce improvements? Performance Measurement and Metrics is the only journal devoted solely to measurement of the performance of library and information services. It provides an international forum for cross-discipline information professionals, whether practitioners or academics, workplace researchers or theoreticians.

It addresses the broadest issues relating to metrics and approaches to measurement with quantitative and qualitative techniques across the spectrum of library and information services. Both theoretical and applied studies from all settings including academic, public and corporate sectors are welcomed. Of particular interest are those innovative techniques from other disciplines which have the potential to be applied to the improvement of library and information services.

The journal publishes conceptual papers, empirical research, literature reviews, practical case studies, and reviews of books and other relevant publications of interest to Information Professionals.
