Dr M.Y. Siyal got his BE from Mehran University in Electronic Engineering, MSc and PhD from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK in Computer Engineering and an MBA from Surrey European Management School (SEMS), Surrey University, UK in IT. Before joining Nanyang Technological University Singapore in early 1993, Dr Siyal was with the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, where he provided consultancy and technical support to all the universities in the UK under EUROCHIP scheme. Dr Siyal has over 15 years of experience in teaching, research and providing consultancy in Europe and Asia. He has published extensively in computer and IT-related areas both in international conferences and international journals and has over 95 referred publications. He has supervised various undergraduate and postgraduate projects in computer engineering and IT, and has conducted various short courses in these areas. He is a chartered engineer in the UK, member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, UK and senior member of IEEE, USA. He is listed in the 15th edition of Marquis Who's Who in the world. Currently he is a tenured Associate Professor in Information Engineering, at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Braham Barkat received the degree of "Ingenieur d'Etat" in Electronics in 1985 from the National Polytechnic Institute of Algiers (ENPA). In 1986, he joined the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, where he received the MS degree in Control Systems in 1988. In 1989, he joined the University of Blida, Algeria, where he held a lecturer position in digital and advanced control systems. In 1996, he joined the Signal Processing Research Centre at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia as a Senior Research Assistant and then as a PhD candidate in Signal Processing. From September 1999 to December 2000, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, first at QUT and then at Curtin University, Western Australia. Since December 2000, he has held an Assistant Professor position at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include time-frequency signal analysis estimation and detection, statistical array processing, embedded control and digital signal processing systems.
