The behaviour and use of cobalt 2‐ethylhexanoate
Abstract
Cobalt compounds have been used to accelerate the drying of paints, such as those containing linseed oil, since the turn of the century. Coffey was one of the first people to investigate the influence of driers on the drying of an oil. He found that a drier shortens the induction time an unsaturated oil requires to absorb oxygen from the atmosphere.
