Burgers criticised

The Food Commission has published a new report which says that most frozen burgers are fatty, over-salted products pumped with non-meat fillers, water and flavour boosting ingredients. The report found out that of 40 popular beef burgers and grillsteaks two-thirds contained less than 90 per cent pure meat and some contained as little as 60 per cent meat. Every burger in the survey contained meat that was fattier than typical minced beef. Some frozen burgers were made using meat that was 50 per cent pure fat. As half of teenagers now eat between three of four burgers every week these facts are very important.
