Chef's curry

Article Type: Food facts From: Nutrition & Food Science, Volume 39, Issue 3.

In celebration of National Curry Week (23-29 November) and to launch a series of Anglo-Indian recipes, a county chef has created Lincolnshire's first locally inspired curry.

Known as the Yellow-Bellied Bhuna, this medium hot mouth-watering dish includes the famous Lincolnshire sausage, Lincolnshire potatoes and other locally loved produce combined with fresh Indian spices.

Mafazul Huda, the entrepreneur behind the Mr Huda's Surma Secrets range of curry pastes commissioned his Development Chef Christine Sharpe to invent the county curry.

“Curry is one of the UK's favourite dishes and there is a long tradition of combining both English and Indian flavours to create great tasting cuisine. With Lincolnshire being such a foodie county I've often wondered what it would be like to create a curry with some of the most well-known local products and National Curry Week seemed like the perfect time to test out some recipe ideas”.

More than 1,000 recipes were downloaded with chicken bhuna being the most popular (269 downloads).
