Industrial Copolymers Limited (ICL) has introduced, as part of the company's development of high production, low hazard materials, a new product – Incorez CL760 (Plate 9).

Incorez CL760 is a new development that has been added to Incorez 700 series of polyurethane prepolymers, which are formulated for use in one component polyurethane coatings, pourable mastics and flexible PU sealants. The product is an oxazolidine modified aliphatic prepolymer, which is said to cure rapidily on exposure to atmospheric moisture to give a tough, hard coating with exceptional chemical and physical resistance properties.
The aliphatic nature of the prepolymer reportedly imparts excellent U/V resistance, making it suitable for a variety of external applications. Examples include concrete sealers, block paving sealers and wood varnishes/lacquers.
The oxazolidine modification of the Incorez CL760 is said to ensure that, even in damp conditions, it cure well, with no bubbling or gassing due to carbon dioxide. In addition, it reportedly confers tolerance to repeated closing and reoping of containers without spoiling.
The product is supplied as a 60 per cent solids solution in aromatic solvent, and is also available as a 30 per cent solids solution (Incorez CL730).
In addition to the Incorez 700 series of IPDI prepolymers, ICL also supplies a wide rane of TMXDI prpolymers (the Incorez 800 series), and MDI prpolymers (the Incorez 900 series).The Incorez 800 series has been produced for applications including one component clear or pigmented waterproof deck coatings, as well as harder anti-corrosive systems. The Incorez 900 series is used in the production of primers for a variety of different systems.
