The Construction Project Information Committee (CPIC) has instigated a review of “Common Arrangement of Work Sections for Building Work (CAWS)”, the trade structure used in the standard method of measurement SMM7 and other related industry documents, and is currently consulting with the industry. CPIC, which is composed of RICS, RIBA, ICE, the Construction Confederation, and CIBSE, welcomes comments on CAWS, or the structure of SMM7, via their web site.
