Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to look into how effective new learning methods are in today’s workforce. The traditional learning styles are no longer optimal; it is important that companies look ahead and adapt to new training styles.

Design/methodology/approach

The team at Braidio has over 20 years of technical, operations and start-up experience in the internet, wireless and security industries. Over the years they have noticed these shifts in learning technology as it moves from more traditional methods to a more social experience.

Findings

To effectively train existing and new employees, companies must adapt to the technological and generational changes that are impacting the modern workforce. Mobile and social learning are becoming more prominent as these types of media are more easily digested by the growing millennial population.

Originality/value

Braidio is the first company to adapt to this new model of learning and has been able to provide a unique solution that can be built directly into a company's workflow. The modern workforce will continue to evolve, and the companies that are ahead of the curve will end up benefiting the most in the long run.
