The British Sandwich Association

The British Sandwich Association

The commercial UK sandwich market is estimated to be worth in excess of £2.8 million and has the largest share, 41 per cent, of the food-on-the-move market. The primary objectives of The British Sandwich Association are to safeguard the integrity of the sandwich market for the benefit of consumers by setting minimum standards for sandwich making and to encourage excellence and innovation in sandwich making. The Association was formed in January 1990 and its activities for members include regular meetings, the annual sandwich industry awards dinner and maintenance of a library resource for members. Since 1999 each member of the Association receives the sandwich industry manual with the relevant codes of practice and there is also a bi-monthly journal Sandwich and Snack News.
