Library Development in Ethiopia

Abstract

Examines the current state of library development in Ethiopia against the economic, social, cultural and educational background of the country. Outlines the problems facing libraries in Ethiopia, and demonstrates the performance of the public library service to be grossly inadequate. Explains the need for a national library plan to improve the situation and examines the possibilities for such a plan.
