Promoting a culture of learning through education business partnership in Tower Hamlets: a case study of the Bankers Trust initiative with Morpeth School
Abstract
The partnership between Bankers Trust and a local secondary school is now in its third year. This paper examines the origins and development of the partnership. It discusses the success of the partnership using quantitative measurements, including significant improvements in exam performance, attendance and exclusions and qualitative measurements, like the improved atmosphere within the school and the pride the students now have in it. It also highlights the perceived benefits for the company. The project is already used as a template for similar initiatives by the local Education Business Partnership. This case study shows how similar projects could be developed and monitored in other areas.
