Abstract

According to the age‐old proverb, “it’s better to look before you leap”. But that is not always necessarily the best policy to adopt. And exercising caution within a business environment driven by constantly advancing technology means running the real risk of getting left behind. In view of the continuing rapid growth of the Internet, Michalak and Jones examine the emergence of e‐commerce and conclude that the hesitant attitude that exists towards the phenomenon in Canada is likely to have repercussions for the country’s economy.
