Bonding timbers in old brickwork

Abstract

Considers the problems caused by decay of bonding timbers in 17th to 19th century brickwork. Discusses the investigation process needed to find structural timbers, and examples of timber use and remedial work. Concludes that each case should be treated on its own merits, since individual investigation is the most important aspect of the survey.
