Abstract

Many facilities managers are expected to contribute to key decisions regarding building maintenance without having any background knowledge of engineering services. The contents of two courses which address this need are described. The courses are designed to create an awareness of the value of good engineering and to give some insight into some of the more important concepts in building engineering.
