Abstract

As we approach the millennium, the environment within which the National Health Service operates is being transformed. Discusses nursing in this context and, in particular, the two national initiatives Project 2000 and the Post‐Registration Education and Practice Project – both concerned with the education and training needs of nursing professionals in the twenty‐first century. Examines the probable impact of these projects on nursing college libraries, and proposes ten criteria which medical libraries must adopt.
