Women Executives: Who Cares for the Carers?
Abstract
Argues that, in spite of the good intentions of equal opportunities policies, the needs of older career women appear to be unnoticed. These women often find, on approaching retirement, that they are side‐lined into “caring” roles, usually with elderly relatives. There is often no corporate understanding of these problems and very little help is given to enable them to cope with this dual role. Society does not appear to care enough to help them maximize their management potential.
