Abstract

In 1999 voluntary and statutory sector partners in Hull agreed that they wanted to respond more effectively to the needs of all those in supported accommodation. We were commissioned to undertake a review of services and make recommendations that would inform corporate strategy formation. The results set out eight key areas for change. This article is a summary of the report produced. It urges all parties to put client needs first, whoever they are, and to commit to genuine partnership to achieve agreed aims. Supporting People gives Hull a real opportunity to develop effective services across all client groups, and demands an increased commitment to some of the most vulnerable people in the community.
