Expo magazine names NACE International’s annual conference and expo, CORROSION, as one of its top 25 fast-growth shows

Article Type: Industrial news From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 61, Issue 5

NACE International is proud to announce that its CORROSION 2013 Conference and Expo has been recognized by Expo Magazine as a Top 25 Fast-Growth Show. Each year, the Expo Magazine surveys hundreds of organizations to determine the fastest growing shows in the world. In addition to numerical data, the survey focuses on unique efforts made to build the value of the event. In 2013, NACE International introduced several new services and benefits for attendees and exhibitors.

Some of the strategies used to drive the show’s success included:

  • an e-marketing service for all exhibitors which enabled them to send private invitations and free exhibit hall passes to their customers;

  • early-bird registration in the lobby at the headquarters hotel two days before the main registration desk opened at the convention center;

  • a revamped mobile app;

  • a housing kiosk to book hotels for CORROSION 2014;

  • online housing reservations;

  • a private reception for exhibitors;

  • re-launched exhibit hall passport program;

  • antique corrosion control technologies exhibit in honor of the association’s 70th anniversary;

  • a cathodic protection test field installed in the exhibit hall where professionals received hands-on instruction;

  • launched new product showcase;

  • hosted the Materials Performance Innovation of the Year Awards at the exhibit hall grand opening;

  • hosted a career fair with dozens of employers; and

  • created a comprehensive social media strategy which was implemented throughout the event.

While many associations are facing stagnant or decreasing registration numbers and exhibit hall growth at their annual conferences, NACE is fortunate to be experiencing unprecedented growth. As the industry advances, NACE is providing more services and learning opportunities in its classes and at its events worldwide. CORROSION remains the flagship event of the year for corrosion professionals worldwide. In 2014, NACE International surpassed its award-winning show of 2013 with > 7,000 attendees from 69 countries and 422 exhibitors making it the largest event in NACE International history.
