Article Type: Conferences, training and publications From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 61, Issue 5

In its first showing in Atlanta, the American Coatings Show (ACS) 2014 again set new records in all categories. With 480 exhibitors and > 8,700 overall participants from 70 countries (2012: 427/7,500/69), the fourth edition of the American Coatings Show and Conference broke all of its previous records for visitors, exhibitors and footprint.

The ACS is the paint and coatings industry’s premiere destination for exchanging the most current information about an extensive range of products and industry practices. Organized by the American Coatings Association (ACA), the show attracts top coatings development decision-makers for a high-level exchange of information.

Preliminary data for the American Coatings Show and Conference held great promise that this year’s event would exceed previous year’s success, and that challenge has been met. Our goal is to continue meeting the needs of professionals and companies in the coatings industry, and we look forward to providing another high-quality forum in 2016, said Andy Doyle, ACA president.

The exhibition and trade show portion of the event surpassed its 2012 footprint by > 20 per cent. The exhibit space expanded from 91,000 to 110,000 net square feet due to an increase of total exhibitors and previous exhibitors leasing larger booth space.

Attendance at the ACS also surpassed the numbers of the previous event in an impressive way. The event drew > 8,700 industry professionals from 70 countries (2012 = 7,500/69), accompanying the overall growth of the event.

More than 1,000 coatings industry professionals attended the Conference, from April 7-9, to learn about the most recent research results and industrial developments in 16 thematically structured sessions – among them fascinating topics like smart and functional coatings.

The fifth edition of the American Coatings Show and Conference is scheduled for April 11-14, 2016, at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN.
