Differing perceptions
Abstract
Reports on how American, European and Japanese companies view the ISO 9000 quality management standards and their certification process. Asserts that American and Japanese firms harbour deep suspicions regarding the ISO 9000 series of standards. Describes the various perspectives. Concludes that the specific institutional model has to be set up by each region, according to its own requirements and policies and that it is reasonable to expect other regions will adopt similar principles in order to realise the potential (mutual) benefits.
