Abstract

Insists that like most industries, the construction industry has felt the pinch of the most recent recession and in all areas management is shifting towards cutbacks and retrenchment. Argues that this is the best time for managers in the industry to start recognising opportunities that will help give a company that extra advantage when the economy improves. Cites the example of Sheffield City Council′s decision to launch a programme for organizational development.
