Owning a listed building – an honour or a chore?

Abstract

Discusses the issues around the ownership of a listed building. Illustrates expensive pitfalls by case histories. Summarises that although owning such a building may be a privilege, it carries an often onerous responsibility. Concludes that a profesional advisor has a duty to ensure the prospective purchaser is fully conversant with their obligations.
