The importance of preventative maintenance
Abstract
Offers a check list of some environmental systems within a building that require preventive maintenance (PM), together with typical faults due to deterioration. Argues that a lack of PM will lead to expensive breakdown of capital equipment. Advises the use of a qualified contractor, registered to ISO 9000. Concludes that the essence of good maintenance is prevention rather than cure.
