Experiences of Enterprise in Higher Education within two research‐led universities

Abstract

Describes the enterprise agenda of two large, civic universities – the University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. Relates the strategy used and various achievements, including employer partnerships, a publicity campaign, student enterprise, an enterprise central office, and the establishment of an evaluation culture. Discusses the lessons learned and the challenges for the future.
