Abstract

Appropriate mathematical tools for describing and processing weaves are useful for studying the properties of fabric. Taking into account the binary behaviour of the different steps in weaving process, the use of boolean algebra seems to be the most appropriate skill. The description of the weaving process as well as the definition of new weave-oriented boolean operators are hereafter introduced. Moreover, some unambiguous descriptions of weave are presented. This paper presents a set of weave operators that could be useful for describing weave derivative processes such as the quadrantal method or any other process.
