Windchill to help speed time to market

Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) today announced that it has received a £1.75 million order[1] for Windchill product and process lifecycle management software and services from Hutchinson Technology of Hutchinson, Minnesota, USA.

Hutchinson Technology is the leading worldwide supplier of suspension assemblies for computer system disk drives, producing approximately 70 percent of the worldwide supply. The company had previously standardised on PTC's Pro/ENGINEER mechanical design automation software to automate its product development process.

"In our industry, product life cycles are shortening, customers are seeking increased customisation and we have increasing needs to share information throughout our supply chain", said Rich Myers, vice president of administration, Hutchinson Technology. "After an exhaustive evaluation, we're confident that our combined use of Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill will meet our need to reduce product delivery timeframes while continually increasing the quality of our products."

Last quarter, Hutchinson Technology placed a £1.5 million order[2] for Pro/ENGINEER software and services, reconfirming the company's commitment to Pro/ENGINEER as its standard for product development.
