Precision Merger creates unique capability

Two leading precision component manufacturers have merged, creating an unique business, which encompasses all disciplines of precision component engineering and is believed to be the largest of its kind in Europe.

Precision Micro Ltd is the new company formed following the amalgamation of Birmingham based Microponents Ltd and Micro Metallic Ltd, both well established leaders in the manufacture of high precision components for automotive, communications, aerospace, electronics, medical, military and “high-tech” engineering applications.

The new company is considered to be unique in its technology offering, being the only precision components manufacturer with such a comprehensive portfolio of manufacturing capabilities. By providing photo etching, laser cutting, EDM, electroforming, Precision stamping, forming and finishing, precision Micro can meet customers' entire requirements for finished components from a single source.

“Precision Micro will seek to enhance the partnerships already formed with existing customers and enter into long term relationships with new partners in order to ease the components development process from design and sampling, through prototyping, to the manufacture of large production quantities,” said Anthony Marrett, Managing Director.

“We now have the range and combination of technologies that will ensure our competitive edge across the markets we serve and enable us to meet our customers' needs in terms of speed, volume, quality and economy.”

This unique combination of manufacturing technologies enables Precision Micro to work with a broad selection of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, plastics, composites and even wood, in 10 μ-16 mm thickness and to tolerances measured in microns.

Precision Micro's customers will benefit from the company's ability to mix manufacturing technologies to produce precision profiled, formed and finished components, in a short timeframe, in whatever volumes they require, at competitive prices.
