Duplex Stainless Steels Microstructure, Properties and Applications

Duplex Stainless Steels Microstructure, Properties and Applications

Edited by Robert Gunn

A new book published recently will be welcomed by many engineers and metallurgists working with duplex stainless steels. Based on keynote papers from the Glasgow and Beaune duplex stainless steel conferences, Duplex Stainless Steels is fully indexed and cross referenced and constitutes the first reference book on this relatively new engineering material.

The first three chapters cover developments, grades and specifications, alloy design and microstructure. Chapter 4 looks at forming and machining and Chapter 5 the physical and mechanical properties of duplex stainless steels. Corrosion and stress corrosion cracking are dealt with in the following two chapters while welding metallurgy, processes and weld properties are the subjects of Chapters 8, 9 and 10. Chapter 11 details non-destructive testing methods and the final two chapters look at applications and service experience.

Duplex Stainless Steels is published by Abington Publishing, 224 pages, hardback, £95/US$170.
