Alocit Systems of Dereham, Norfolk, UK, has set up a library of independent test results on its protective coatings products to help construction and water engineers when specifying. The information is available from the company on CD-ROM.
The company has marshalled test results from organisations around the world which have used Alocit products for jetty and bridge repairs in sub-tropical conditions, to robotic pipe repair work in Europe. Tests include some by the US Military which have taken several years to conduct, while another by the Dutch Navy involved coating totally wet sandstone and steel structures under the North Sea, and fluid tests done by the German government laboratory over an eight-year period.
A company spokesman said "We can now demonstrate independent test data for most conceivable applications of Alocit, which is usually used to protectively coat concrete and metal where water, salt or oil are present on the surface to be coated. Alocit can protect and extend the life of the object to be protected by many times its natural life".
