According to Plascoat a new polyolefin material specifically developed for the coating of dishwasher baskets is said to be set to challenge the European market domination of polyamide (nylon) coatings.
Talissman 10 not only claims to offer appliance manufacturers major unit cost savings, but a range of performance benefits.
Savings of $60 per 100 baskets are thought to be possible through a switch to Talisman 10 figures supported by a test progamme that has involved the co-operation of two international dishwasher manufacturers and a leading specialist coater.
The field and cycle test have reportedly also highlighted Talisman 10 performance benefits. They include superior stain, salt and "rinse aid" resistance. The material also offers an energy gain through a lower oven operating temperature requirement.
