Buckleys (UVRAL) Ltd has expanded its range of specialist high/low voltage test
equipment with the introduction of a new AC spark tester, reportedly the only known product of its kind to bear the CE mark (required by law inside Europe).
The ST-AC 100 spark tester is designed for inspecting a range of coatings and linings up to 30mm thick in the petro-chemical, pipeline construction, plastics and rubber industries. Equipped with a lightweight test probe handle, the instrument has an adjustable voltage range of between 5 and 55kV peak high frequency AC, with power limited output for operator safety.
Paul Hoveman, managing director of Buckleys (UVRAL) Ltd said: "As far as we are aware, the ST-AC 100 is the only spark tester to gain complete EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and fully meet the stringent safety approvals laid down by European directives.
"Each part of the instrument, from the control box to the handle probe, has been independently verified, so customers purchasing the equipment can be totally confident that they are complying with current testing, health and safety regulations".
Housed in a strong aluminium case, the ST-AC 100 measures 210 × 124 × l,180mm and weighs less than 4kg. Optional accessories include a handy carrying case equipped with a shoulder strap and a holster for the test probe handle.
Buckleys offers a choice of electrodes including gauze mesh, pointed probe flexible probe drum bush and "L" shaped. Extension leads up to 25m, a spark gap setter and insulated extension rods are available and Buckleys can also manufacture parts to meet customer specifications if required.
